Joint ASM/AWS Dinner Meeting Case Studies & Failure Analysis of Stainless Steel,
Duplex and Nickel Alloy Tubing
David O'Donnell of RathGibson, Inc.
Join us for this special joint dinner meeting with the Milwaukee chapters of ASM and AWS. David O'Donnell is Manager Process and Product Development at RathGibson, Inc. His duties at involve process assurance, technical services mill support and failure investigations. Dave is involved with the RathGibson team to ensure that the company maintains it competitive edge on welding technology and quality.
Dave joined the company in 1996 (20 years) after 10 years with Inco Alloys International Inc. where he held various positions in Research and Development. He has extensive experience in the welding of Nickel Alloys and other metals. He earned his B.S. degree in Welding Engineering in 1984 from The Ohio State University. Dave is a licensed private pilot with instrument ratings and enjoys snowmobiling, scuba diving and water skiing.
During his presentation, Dave will be reviewing topics including:
- Bending problems
- Forming problems
- LME – Liquid Metal Embrittlement
- Fatigue
- Heat tints associated with welding
- Fumes / Drying action
- Pitting – corrosion
- SCC – Stainless Steel Cracking
